Produce doesn’t always grow up to be picture perfect. A small discrepancy from “model status” and produce is presumably left for dead. Misfits Market saves the perfectly good but so-called “ugly produce”. Accepting produce in all the shapes and sizes it comes in, is a way that we can change the idea that ugly isn’t different or less than, Ugly is Beautiful.

On this episode of Chopped:

Chefs get a box from Misfit’s Market, an online grocery/produce subscription service. Chefs will be challenged to come up with a dish to impress the judges using the produce from Misfit’s that may or may not be misshapen. This challenge will go through the process of redefining that a misshapen produce isn’t really ugly because Ugly Is Beautiful.
